Abhikalan Technologies
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This policy explains how Abhikalan Technologies handles website enquiries, product communication, licence information, support records, and AbhiPOSS deployment data. For a summary of product data ownership and deployment responsibility, see the Legal & Trust page.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you submit through website forms, demo requests, support conversations, emails, calls, and business onboarding. This may include name, phone number, email address, company or outlet name, city, business type, licence details, device details, and enquiry content.
When you use AbhiPOSS, we may collect limited licence, activation, support, crash, diagnostic, and configuration information needed to provide the product and support services. The exact data depends on the deployment type and plan selected by the customer.
2. AbhiPOSS Customer Data
Sales, menu, customer, employee, order, tax, inventory, shift, and report data entered into AbhiPOSS belongs to the merchant operating the outlet.
In standalone offline deployments, this POS data is stored on the customer's device or local environment. Abhikalan does not automatically receive or control that data unless the customer enables a hosted, sync, backup, remote support, or managed service arrangement.
If the customer authorizes remote support, backup, sync, or hosted services, Abhikalan processes the required data only for the agreed product, support, backup, restore, security, compliance, or service-delivery purpose.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to respond to enquiries, schedule demos, activate licences, provide onboarding, deliver support, improve product reliability, communicate account updates, maintain commercial records, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.
We may use aggregated or non-identifying operational information to improve AbhiPOSS features, documentation, performance, and support workflows.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers used for hosting, analytics, communication, payment, licence delivery, support, security, backup, or infrastructure operations.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, to investigate misuse, or to enforce signed agreements and software licence terms.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational controls for systems under our control. These may include access restrictions, service-provider controls, licence protection, support-process controls, and security monitoring where applicable.
For offline or customer-managed deployments, the customer is responsible for device security, operating system updates, user access, passwords, local network protection, physical security, and backup discipline.
6. Backups, Retention, and Data Loss
If AbhiPOSS is used in local/offline mode without a managed backup or sync service, the customer is responsible for maintaining recoverable backups. Abhikalan cannot recover data that was never backed up, synced, hosted, or shared for support.
Where Abhikalan provides managed backup, sync, or hosted services, retention and restore commitments are governed by the selected plan, support policy, and signed customer agreement.
We retain website, enquiry, support, licence, and commercial records only as long as reasonably required for the purposes described here, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and business records.
7. Legal Basis and Indian Data Protection
We process information for legitimate business purposes, customer requests, contractual performance, consent-based communication where applicable, product security, and legal compliance.
Abhikalan designs its privacy and security practices with Indian data protection expectations in mind, including reasonable handling of personal information and purpose-limited processing. Specific obligations may depend on the customer deployment and final agreement.
8. Your Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent where applicable, or restriction of certain communications by contacting us.
For POS data controlled by a merchant, end customers and staff should first contact the merchant operating that outlet because the merchant controls the business data entered into AbhiPOSS.
9. Contact
For privacy-related questions, data requests, or support escalation, email contact@abhikalan.com.
