Can Android be used as the main POS device?
Yes. In the available Restaurant Edition, Android can run as a standalone local POS or as a connected terminal. Larger restaurant rollouts may combine Android with desktop counters and browser access.
Can Android work offline?
Yes. Standalone Android runs local billing without internet. Connected Android terminals also work without public internet when they can reach the store server over local Wi-Fi. Downloads, remote support and online payment services may need internet separately.
Can Android connect to a remote server?
Yes. Android clients connect to your main Windows store server. Inside the outlet, local Wi-Fi is sufficient. Access from outside the outlet needs a separately configured connection and is confirmed during setup.
Can several Android devices share orders without internet?
Yes. Connect them to the same Windows store server over your outlet's local Wi-Fi. They share the server's records within their assigned permissions. The server and local network must stay available. A standalone Android device does not host the other terminals.
Is Android POS useful for restaurants?
Yes. Android devices are useful for table-side order taking, compact takeaway counters, supervisor access, and additional terminals during peak hours.
